Kakuseihunter Omegahorn: Review: Show Me! Captain’s Qualifications!
Project Red Hunter Omegahorn completely missed the mark with this second episode, turning whatever slight momentum the premiere built into a total drag. The pacing was incredibly slow, dragging out scenes that should have taken two minutes into agonizingly long, empty dialogues. Instead of building up the stakes or diving deeper into the lore, the plot just sort of stalled out in a maze of pointless subplots. It felt less like a progressive story and more like the writers were just desperately trying to stretch the runtime to hit their broadcasting quota.
The action sequences, which honestly should have been the saving grace of a show with a name like this, were a massive letdown. The choreography felt clunky and lacked any real energy, making the fight scenes look more like a rehearsed dance than a high-stakes battle. On top of that, the CGI looked incredibly cheap and rushed, especially during the main transformation scene which completely shattered any sense of immersion. When a sci-fi action show can’t even get its visual effects or combat right, you know you’re in for a rough time.
To make matters worse, the character development went completely backwards, making it hard to care about anyone on screen. The main protagonist spent the entire episode whining about their responsibilities without taking any meaningful action, which quickly grew frustrating to watch. Side characters were introduced just to deliver heavy-handed exposition and then immediately pushed to the background without any clear purpose. By the time the credits rolled, the episode left behind a feeling of pure annoyance rather than anticipation for what’s coming next.
